Unearthed! in Mackay

Join the Mackay community to celebrate National Science Week with a fun-filled day of STEAM entertainment for the whole family at Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre proudly presented by Queensland Museum and BHP!

 

Celebrate our central Queensland discoveries, find fossils with our experts, explore virtual reality, learn about our local research, race droids and build robots plus much more. The program includes fun, kid friendly activities including helping Queensland Museum experts look for evidence of long-gone creatures in the Fossil Finders zone, a ‘STEM Punks’ workshop where you can learn coding for drones, learn to create virtual and augmented reality applications and explore the history of central Queensland megafauna, taking turns at STEAM Galaxy’s Go Extinct! game (where you can learn about extinct animals and evolution!) or join the Young Engineers Brisbane’s LEGO robotics workshop! Create megafauna origami or get creative in the Maker Space, or learn about geology and how volcanoes work with Active Earth!

 

Great for all ages and entry is free!
