Creative Practices, Community Engagement and Social Impact Symposium

The Creative Lab invites you to a symposium exploring creative practices as transformative methods for engaging communities, re-imagining place and informing policy. This one and a half-day symposium will include panel discussions, presentations about impactful creative projects and performances by QUT staff and industry collaborators.


QUT believes the future is creative, co-operative and inclusive, and this symposium will be a chance to map future projects and hear about inspiring current research. Arts based research methods and creative practices have enormous potential to promote social inclusion and engage communities, this symposium will showcase projects and approaches from traditional arts disciplines such as performance, music, visual art and creative writing along with emerging hybrid forms utilising immersive and experiential technologies and co-creation to discuss and propose what the next generation of creative industries research and practice will look like.
