Children’s Media Symposium
November 21 - November 22$280
The University of the Sunshine Coast is hosting its second Children’s Media Symposium this November!
The Symposium will feature industry keynote speakers Rhianna Patrick (The ABC) and Joe Brumm, creator and showrunner of ABCME’s Bluey. They will present alongside Australian Children’s Television Foundation CEO Jenny Buckland, and “Short and Curly” podcast creators Carl Smith and Kyla Slaven. This year’s CMS will consider how digitisation, participatory and convergence cultures, emergent digital media, and streaming services like YouTube and Netflix have transformed platforms, texts and possibilities for children’s storytelling. This year, look forward to workshops with industry experts on coding, web development and podcasts as part of continued efforts to research into how children are engaging with media, both for learning and entertainment, while allowing leading storytellers to share their creative practices.
Early Bird registrations close 30 September.
